Festival of the Rivers 2006 International Music Line Up Announced

Hinton, WV  – Festival of the Rivers announces its two-day line up for Hinton West Virginia’s free Labor Day Weekend music event. This “Jewel of the Hills” features traditional, bluegrass, country and western, blues, rock, and jazz music performed on lots of novel, creative, and unusual homemade instruments by musicians from around the world.

Festival of the Rivers is sustained through the ongoing support of the State of West Virginia, corporate sponsors, and private donors. This year’s performance schedule is as follows:

Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006:

Guitar classes by Master Martin John from 10 to 11 a.m.

Build a Cigar Box Guitar with Tomi-O from 11 till noon

Then, beginning at noon:

SC MPERS Marching Percussion Ensemble of Summers County, WV

Boz …The Michigan Connection

Gerry Thompson of Moorestown, NJ

Paul Moore of Israel

HOLY COW

Margo and the Bluegills of Summers & Mercer County

The Hartwell’s of Hinton, WV

Tomi-O “The New-Age Hillbilly” and One-Man-Band of Hinton, WV

9 – 10 p.m.: Martin John and Friends of England

Sunday Sept. 3, 2006:

The free festival on Sept. 2-3, 2006 is held by the Flannagan-Murrell House Inc. (FMH), a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to using the arts for the benefit of the people of Hinton, Summers County, and West Virginia in general. FMH is maintained through community support and staffed by volunteers.
