Ariel Summer Theatre Presents Classic Musical ‘Show Boat’

Gallipolis, OH  — Come one, come all — as the Cotton Blossom docks in the Morris and Dorothy Ariel Theatre, in the Ariel – Ann Carson Dater Performing Arts Centre, Gallipolis, Ohio. “Show Boat”, will perform at the Ariel Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 8 p.m. nightly.

The Ariel Summer Theatre has been in rehearsals for weeks polishing their presentation of the Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II, classic stage musical, “Show Boat”. Beautiful music and dramatic storyline blend to make this production, based on the 1926 novel by Edna Ferber, a favorite audiences have enjoyed for generations.

“Show Boat” is directed by veteran musical theatre director  Cynthia Graham, with assistance by Susan Beman and Scott Michal. A talented cast of local performers and crew have assembled to ensure a sucessful presentation of this powerful production.

Tickets are currently available for both performances. Limited VIP reserved seats are available for $12. Main Floor reserved seating is available for $8. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Ariel – Dater Hall box office at 740-446-ARTS (2787). Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Ariel Box Office, at 428 2nd Avenue, Gallipolis. The Ariel Box Office will also be selling tickets beginning at 6:30 on the evening of performances.
